This update is late due to so much happening on many fronts. Generally I am feeling well and optimistic, and continuing with the same regimen of strict diet (low carbs, no sugar), anti-cancer supplements and oxygen therapy, plus hormone therapy in the form of casodex pills that inhibit the absorption of testosterone.
I had excellent test results in July, and took a break from the casodex forAugust and September, but my PSA score went from under 4 to almost 17 in that short time, as shown on the updated summary. So I resumed the casodex; I was getting chest swelling and soreness, a side-effect of a complex hormonal imbalance involving prolactin, estrogen and progesterone. I also started a mild dose of progesterone to reduce the swelling and sensitivity.
In addition to the change of hormone therapy, Sept. 12 saw the amazing, historic flood that demolished our school building and its contents with a huge landslide. I had an extremely busy time simultaneously doing major home repairs, finding and outfitting a new location for classes, finishing a book project, while also continuing private sessions and administrative activities. This involved more desk work than optimum, and I wonder if the PSA spike was an indicator of the extra stress and exertions of the weeks following the flood. I will know more about this with the next test.
Also in the news, I am eagerly looking forward to a visit to Boulder of Dr. Sha, the Tao master who has helped me so much in the past. I will attend his five-day seminar in Estes Park starting Nov. 9.
Thanks again to everyone who has us, especially the many recent contributors to our flood recovery efforts. I feel supported and elevated by your care and concern!
