It is now three full months since I stopped hormone therapy, and a blood test last week showed testosterone is now approximately back to normal, with a PSA score of .4 (it was <.1 since January while on the hormone therapy). This score is no problem at all for a man of any age, let alone 62. The great experiment has been, what would the cancer activity do when testosterone (its supposed fuel) was allowed back into the system. I am thinking if it was going to have an effect, it should be noticeable by now. I am feeling well with normal energy, still doing as many of my strategies as time allows, and generally I am feeling increasingly optimistic. I have been quite shy about prematurely declaring victory, and this is not making any claims, but generally it is very good that one year after the original diagnosis of stage 4 cancer of prostate-lungs-bones, I find myself in this particular situation.

Today is exactly one year from the day I had my first encounter with and demo Qi Gong session from Dr. Zhi Gang Sha. October 28 is sort of a marker for me, representing a hypothetical turning point in my process. When I think of the mental-emotional-physical ride I have been on for this past year, I feel very grateful.

I have tweaked by strategies list a bit, will try to keep that page updated as I continue to research the topic and options.

I am being contacted by other cancer adventurers and having fun with that. I am eager to share what I have learned with anyone who is interested. I am resisting taking any public political stances, though I am definitely a believer in natural remedies, because I can see how complicated the whole situation really is for the people who are actually involved. This past month was “Race for the Cure” cancer awareness month and sports players on TV were wearing pink armbands, etc.. Many millions of dollars are being donated to research increasingly sophisticated potential high-tech treatments based on genetics and cell microbiology. In my opinion, based on my experience of the past year, a complementary approach deserves an equal or greater place at the table. I attempt to convey this message when I receive an inquiry from a new colleague in the cancer game.

The gist of the message is, “Immediately go this way:”

  • Mental-emotional review to identify and resolve binds and shocks
  • Radical change of diet to alkalinizing with no sugar of any kind and minimal carbohydrates
  • Oxygen therapy
  • Supplements and anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory herbs
  • Exercise
  • Cleansing practices, especially for lymph, colon, liver
  • As appropriate individually, spiritual support (in my case Taoist Qi Gong via Dr. Sha’s generous and heart-touching gifts)
  • Be open to the field supplying resources of direct support, information, camaraderie; don’t isolate yourself in this situation. Some of my best leads have come “by accident.”

Thanks again to all who are helping me, with financial support, supplies, well wishes and “holding the health” instead of the disease when we meet or interact by email. Together I feel that we are making real progress!
