Continuing the pattern of testing every two months, yesterday’s PSA test came back at 17.8. This means that the trend is the same but that the straight-line pattern (of doubling every two months for the last 14 months) has softened. I am expecting to do another round of hormone therapy, similar to what I did from October 2010 to July 2011, to take the number down to zero and start the process over. This new round will probably start in November, because there are several appointments to be done first.

Generally I continue to feel quite well with normal energy and modest optimism. I tolerated the hormone therapy pretty well in early 2010 and I think I don’t need to do it for so long this time since I know the sequence of it. I did not have many of the side effects reported by others.

I continue to research the topic and try new remedies. I feel settled in for the long haul with my regimen and that I am not near the proverbial edge as I was in 2010 when all this started. The key is to find a remedy that is much more specific about addressing PSA. Most of what I am doing is for my general overall health, with the reduction of cancer symptoms a side effect of overall improving wellness. I have read that cancer cells can be relatively invisible to the immune system and I suspect that is the case for me. So I am looking for some specific way to get around that problem, such as using herbal formulae and essential oils applied directly on the skin above the problem area (lower abdomen).

All in all I am very grateful for feeling well, and for experiencing my family also seeming to do well. I appreciate all the support that I continue to feel from family, friends and colleagues: thanks for your help in this much-later phase after the novelty of the initial news has passed!
